VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are such an important part of our organization! The animals in our care need socialization and enrichment, and volunteers step in to meet that need.
We have two main options for volunteering: Cat Companions and Dog Walkers. Consistency is important here for the animals, so we do ask that our volunteers make at least a 1-year commitment and come for at least one hour each week. Volunteering is done individually, with one person at a time in each cat room or walking dogs. Our volunteer hours are daily from 12:00-4:00. So what does volunteering look like?
Cat Companions (must be 16+)
- Interact with individual cats, pairs of bonded cats, or groups of kittens
- Cuddle, brush, or play with the cats depending on their personality and what they want to do! The cats are always happy to have someone give them individual attention.
Dog Walkers (must be 18+)
- Interact one-on-one with the shelter dogs
- Take the dogs out for a walk to help them get out some energy, and to work on their leash-manners as many need some help in that area!
If you are interested in sharing your time with the animals, please email your completed volunteer application to [email protected] !
