Description:

Meet Derp! Derp was brought to us to find his furever home after his owners sadly could no longer care for him. He is a gentle giant, 100-pounds of lapdog who wants to be cuddled and by your side all the time. He is playful and likes to chase squeaky toys! He does need help with some basic training - he just gets a bit excited sometimes and doesn't understand he's a big boy! With some patience and consistency he'll be a quick learner. He is good with other dogs as well as cats, and he has lived with children in the past - we would recommend he not be in a home with very young children just for safety reasons/so they don't get knocked over. He has a condition referred to as "Happy Tail" which is common in great danes. He wags his tail a lot and if he consistently knocks it into things, it can cause the end to bleed. This has been exacerbated being in the shelter, we think that it would be less of an issue in a home environment!
