One of the hardest things to face in the dog kennels are the senior dogs. They have been uprooted from the only life they have ever known. They are confused, scared and always looking for their owner to walk through the kennel door. Senior dogs are the hardest dogs to find homes for as people don't want to face the possiblity of veterinary expenses that may come with old age and the fact that their life expectancy is not as long as the cute puppy in the next kennel. There are many positives to taking in an older dog, the most important one being that you have opened your heart and home to a pet that someone has turned their back on - and for that, they will be forever grateful.
Bear is one of the senior dogs who is very happy that he has been given a chance at a new life. This good natured 9 year old was a victim of economic hardship in his previous home so found himself looking for somewhere to spend his golden years.
