Pebbles is a very happy-go-lucky, enthusiastic and life loving young Lab mix who arrived in very rough condition. She was surrendered to the Humane Society with a very severe skin infection that left her nearly completely bald, scaly, itchy covered in sores and very smelly. She was in agony when she arrived and had been for some time. Her owners had good intentions when they tried to treat what started as a simple rash with home remedies they found on the internet, but sadly their good intentions created a much larger problem. The small rash soon covered most of her body, she lost nearly all her hair and began developing painful sores which lead to infection. After several months of trying to treat her themselves they made the call that made all the difference. We picked Pebbles up in mid May and immediately had her seen by a vet to determine what was causing the awful skin infection that now involved her entire body. It was determined that she had allergies, most likely to something in her diet. A month and a half later, after so much suffering, Pebbles is finally back to health and ready for a new beginning.
